Alumilite Clear is a crystal clear resin that is easy to use and great for a wide variety of clear casting applications. It is a favourite with woodturners!
Alumilite Clear produces a extra strong, crystal clear casting which polishes to a high shine beautifully. It can be dyed or pigmented and produces an optically clear casting. This resin has excellent cosmetic detail and is easy to use. It is highly recommended for encapsulating and turning applications as it is extremely strong and durable, and it turns beautifully without chipping or cracking. Turned blanks can be easily polished to a high gloss. It has a 7 min open time. Can be sanded, wet sanded, and/or buffed.
Alumilite Clear must be mixed 1:1 by weight. Off-ratio mixing may produce hazy or frosted parts. B side may thicken and need to be warmed before use.
Recommended for industrial use only. Pressure casting is highly recommended to achieve 100% bubble free castings, but minimal bubbles can be achieved by slowly mixing and pouring the resin.
Don't use water based dyes or colours with this resin. Our Alumilite Dyes are ideal (which come in a huge range of colours including fluorescent neon colours!), as well as any dry colours, like Pearl Ex.
For high quality metal effects, use the Alumilite Metal Powders, which comes in most metals you might want like; pearlescent, bronze, gun metal, gold, copper and silver. For a glow in the dark effect, use the Phosphorescent Powder!
