Alumilite Amazing Casting Resin - Opaque White

The Alumilite Amazing Opaque White Casting Resin - cures and turns bright white in 10 minutes! The Amazing Casting Resin is a super-fast curing, general purpose, opaque-white urethane casting resin. Giving you a solid opaque white base, it takes dyes beautifully, and you can achieve vivid bright opaque colours. 

Amazing Casting Resin (also known and sold as Alumilite White) is an easy to use white urethane resin that creates a durable casting with perfect cosmetics and intricate details.

Its low viscosity and 1:1 mix ratio by weight make the Amazing Casting Resin extremely easy to use. The cured resin can be painted, stained, dyed, drilled, and carved.

This really is a super-fast curing resin - it begins to harden in about 3 minutes, and can be de-moulded after about 10 min! You'll see it harden in front of your eyes, the translucent yellow starts to change into an opaque white, it is fascinating to watch. Great if you are impatient. Once cured, it can be painted with acrylic paint, stained, drilled and machined.

Resin must be kept dry and in sealed bottles at all times.

Keep the caps of each resin bottle on tight at all times. Even during use, pour out what you need, then put the caps back on immediately. This will keep your resin in good working condition for as long as possible. 

This resin does not like moisture. Ensure moulds and tools are completely dry. Don't use with water-based dyes or colours, we recommend our Alumilite Dyes, or powder pigments, like Mica Powder Pigments. 

TIPS

• Final cured colours will be affected by the opaque white base. For example; a tiny drop of red mixed with the white will produce pink. But the more red you add, the redder and brighter the red it will be. You can get some great colour effects with this resin. It can make some great pen blanks as long as you can manage the fast working time.
• If casting into small moulds, warm the mould first

Each kit consists of 2 bottles, for instance, the 946ml (32fl.oz) kits comes as 1 x 473ml (16 fl.oz) part A and 1 x 474ml (16 fl.oz) part B, giving you a total of 946ml (32 fl.oz).

We suggest ensuring you have good ventilation, and protect your skin and eyes (use nitrile gloves only, don’t use latex with resin). If you work with a large amount of resin, or work with it often, you might want to invest in a VOC filtered face mask.
