Heat Proof Resin

A lot of resins on the market claim to be good for coasters, however, they usually mean for mugs that are not filled with 'straight from the kettle' water. When you look into it, most epoxy resins on the market will have a similar heat resistance to our resins.

Alumilite Resin
The manufacturer of Alumilite Amazing Clear Cast has advised us;

It is not heat resistant, but it will take some heat. People have made coasters with it and it does take some heat from coffee cups. However above 65 degrees C it would/could start to soften. Most epoxy resin cannot take very hot cups/mugs.
